When I came to this country a decade back, I saw the dish washer for the first time. But, I never used it for many years since I had so much time on my hands that I would happily do the dishes by hand. Slowly, I started to use it as a huge dish drainer. Then, once I started working, I liked the idea of using it to save time.
Many people have a misconception that dish washer use a lot of power. Not if you don't use heated dry feature. Dish washer actually uses less water compared to what you would use to wash by hand. We have to pay for water too.
Coming to the tip of this post..
I have a dish washing combination as I call it. I wash some of the dishes by hand and some in the dish washer. Huge dishes take up too much space in a dish washer. I wash them by hand and load most of the small dishes, plates, cups, bowls into the dish washer. This way, I don't have to turn it on every day. Every other day and sometimes once in 3 days is good enough. As long as you have enough cutlery, you should be fine running the dish washer every other day.
Enjoy!!
